Bootcamp for Ambitious Musicians
Two one-hour sessions per week
$40.00 per hour per student
Class size 2-4 students, grouped by ability.
Are you looking to amp up your level of rhythmic ability your music reading skills learning to truly hear music? Then consider enrolling in this bootcamp! Instructor Evan Meccarello will meet each of you at your level and take very small groups through training in rhythm, intervals, and sightreading that builds on traditions of the Paris Conservatory and top American music schools. Be ready to tap rhythms, sing notes, and move your arms in the exercises! Everyone entering the bootcamp should be able to match pitch, meaning that you can sing a note (within your voice range) given to you from the piano.
Note: this is not a Music Theory course but a Performance course. Students who have taken Music Theory will benefit highly, as will those who have not.
Homework: daily exercise for 20 minutes each day

Living Music: Listening to Today’s Classical Music
5 weeks, Wednesdays 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm, starting July 29
This class, for learners age 15 and higher, will introduce participants to some of the foremost living composers, broadening their horizons to the music of our time. Class time will consist of discussion, listening, and breakout small group conversations. We’ll learn about music by Jennifer Higdon, Andrew Norman, Gabriela Lena Frank, Unsuk Chin, Hans Abrahamsen, Tania Leon, George Lewis, Steve Reich, and more!
Homework: 10-15 minutes of music listening per day
